Skate Like A Girl
In August 2021, I had the honor of photographing the first women, trans, and non-binary adult skate camp at the YMCA Camp Sequoia Skate Camp hosted by Skate Like A Girl. We spent 5 days amongst the trees skating, swimming, hiking, learning, sharing, and connecting because of a deep love for skateboarding. Skate Like A Girl created a space for those of us underrepresented and marginalized in skateboarding to skate and improve outside of the male gaze and have a space all to ourselves.
